Pocket Options This gives the option to tell the software what way to approach the work piece. There are three different options to choose from.

Plunge – with this option the tool will plunge in the Z axis.

Ramp – with this option the user can have the tool ramp in the Z axis. Here is an example at 1 degree. The user can change the value in the Ramp Angle box to suit their needs.

External Approach – allows the user to approach the flat surface from outside of the flat selected if an opening exists. When using this option, the user must select a point to approach from. To select this point, click on the Select Ext Approach button. Follow the prompt given.

This is the window that will appear once the Select Ext Approach button is selected. When the cursor is moved the red dot will represent the point where the tool will approach from. More than one point can be selected. The system will use the point that is closer to the position where the toolpath starts. Once the points are selected click the OK button to return to the program interface window.
