Macro Windows

The ability to create windows to contain the program to a specific area. The user has three quick button option of creating a window and one button that will give the user more options.
Rectangle – with this option, the window created will be rectangular. When selecting this option, it will ask for the diameter and radius of the tool that will be used. This is only a reference guide. The value inputted does not affect the window being made. Position the mouse at the top left corner of where the program needs to be contained. Press the left mouse button, move the cursor to the bottom right corner, and click the right mouse button.
Polygon – allows the user to draw windows to any shape needed. This option will ask for the tool diameter and radius. The Create Polygon window will be displayed, which is explained below.
Editor – to use curves, points and surfaces to create the window. With this option selected, the Curve Editor window will be displayed allowing all the options, which are explained below.

When you select the bottom half of the large Rectangle button, a drop down menu will appear with the same options and more.
Two Points – select any two points on the work piece and the system will use this as the upper left and bottom right corners to create a window.
Closed CamCurve – if the work piece has a Cam curve the user can select these to create a window.
Surface – this gives the ability to select surfaces. The system will use all surfaces that are connected and use an outline of them as one to create the window. Once the option is selected the Selection window will be displayed.
Projection – mainly used in a 3+2 situation or other references beside the zero reference. It allows the user to create windows by picking on the work piece. Once the window is created and the OK button selected, the system will project the window onto the work piece in the direction of the reference.

There are six sections to the Curve Editor Window.
Filter Section – allows the user to filter which entities can be selected. This filter will work with all of the options under the Tools section.
Tools Section
Segment – the ability to select surfaces segments of the work piece in conjunction with the filter section to create an end result.
Point – allows the user to select points on the entities that are active in the filter section to get an end result.
Part –pick part of a whole element by selecting a start point and an end point to get an end result.
Build –to build the desired element by picking points of an imaginary grid on the screen to get an end result.
Options Section
Use UV –pick the UV lines that help to make up the surfaces to get an end result.
Planar – this will allow the user to only pick entities that are on the same plan as the first entity selected. This will work with the active reference.
Mode Section
Highlight Color – here the user can select the color the entities selected to be.
Undo – will undo any selection that was made allowing the user to back up on their selection if a mistake was made.
Redo – allows the user to move the selection forward if they were to undo the selection too far.
Information Section – displays the information of the entity being selected. It will show if it is a window, surface or a curve the name that the system has given it, the color and what layer that it is on.

The Selection Window has six sections to be completed.
Filter Section
Surfaces –the only entities that can be selected are surfaces.
Pick Through – with this option checked the user has the ability to select surfaces that are behind the surfaces, and are at the top of your view, without having to rotate the work piece to see them.
Mode Section
Unselect –deselect any surface that has been selected.
Highlight Color –select the color the entities being selected to be.
There will be a drop-down menu that will consist of the following options.\ Draw unselectable elements – will show all elements that are not allowed to be selected.
Hide unselectable elements – will hide all elements that cannot be selected.
Gray unselectable elements – will make all elements that cannot be selected gray.
Keep Only – after making selections the user can check this box and select the entities to keep to perform the operation.
Information Section – displays the information of the entity being selected. It will display if it is a window, surface, or a curve, the name that the system has given it, the color, and what layer that it is on.
Undo – will undo any selection that was made allowing the user to back up on the selection if a mistake was made.
Redo – allows the user to move the selection forward if they were to undo the selection too far.
In the top section of this window are the options on how the user can select the surfaces.
Window - create a window by selecting the top left corner with the left mouse button and the bottom right with the right mouse point. Every surface that is completely in the window will be selected.
Capture - create a window by selecting the top left corner with the left mouse button and the bottom right with the right mouse point. Every surface that is partially in that window will be selected.
Color – this option allows the user to select by color. A color palette will be displayed with all the colors that are used on the work piece. Select the desired color.
Layer – this option allows the user to select by layer. Once this is selected a layer list will appear. Select the layer needed and those surfaces will be selected.
List – this option will display a list of all the surfaces and the names. Select from the list. All – select this option, and all surfaces will be selected.

The diameter and radius of the tool to be used can be entered in this window. This does not impact the result of the window or the program made with this window. This is used only as a guide to help the user create the window with great accuracy.

When creating a Polygon window the user will have the following options.
Line - this will create straight lines from one point to another.
Arc - select the approximate center of the radius and then the end point and the system will create a radius using the center and the start and end point.
Highlight Color –select the color the entities being selected are to be.
There will be a drop down menu that will consist of the following options.
Draw unselectable elements – will show all elements that are not allowed to be selected.
Hide unselectable elements – will hide all elements that cannot be selected.
Gray unselectable elements – will make all elements that can not be selected gray.
Undo – will undo any selection that was made allowing the user to back up on the selection if a mistake was made.
Redo – allows the user to move the selection forward if they were to undo the selection too far.

This section allows the user to create Cam Curves that can be used for creating windows or used for engraving lines onto the work piece. Rectangle –the curve created will be rectangular. By selecting this option, it will ask for the diameter and radius of the tool that will be used. This is only a reference guide. The value entered does not affect the curve being made. Position the mouse at the top left corner of where the program needs to be contained, press the left mouse button, move the cursor to the bottom right corner and click the right mouse button.
