RTM 7 - Quick Start Guide: Pocketing

Welcome to RTM 7!

This guide covers basic usage of RTM Version 7 and newer.

Please note: - A new license is required for Version 7.

Compatible with Windows XP through Windows 11.

NVidia Quadro graphics cards have passed initial testing.

RTM 7 is optimized for widescreen format. You may need to upgrade your monitor.

Translators in Version 7 only work with the new CrossCad DLL, which may require an updated license.

General Information

Ensure Lemoine is installed and running with a valid license.

We offer two license types: - Standalone license - Network “Floating” license

How To Start Lemoine, locate the RTMBAR icon on your desktop and double-click to open.

A brief description of each icon:

Configuration: Sets default parameters and units.

DP Database: Manages drill pattern databases.

Gen Post: Creates and modifies machine-specific post-processors.

Macro Database: For 3D macro creation.

Manufacturing Settings: Coordinates RTM functions for toolpath generation.

Multiplate: Enables multiple job setups.

Parameters: Standard Milling Parameters file (“Standard Settings.PAR”).

Pocket Database: For creating pocket patterns.

Opens RTM: Launches the Lemoine interface.

Tool Database: Add tools, ATC tools, holders, and assemblies.

You can either: - Import a new model - Load an existing RTM file

Importing a Model

“Iges” is the Default file that Lemoine imports

Ensure the proper translator license (CrossCadware.dll) is installed if purchased.

Choose Import > select file > click OK.

When prompted by the pop-up balloon, select the Task Manager.

Displaying the Model

In Task Manager, when status shows “Done,” click Result.

Click Go in the Task Result window.

Your model should now be visible.

Graphically Rotating the Model

Ctrl + Left Mouse: Rotate around mouse point (visual only)

Ctrl + Right Mouse: Pan the model

Mouse Wheel: Zoom in/out

Alt + F1: Center the model

F1: Zoom into a windowed area

F2: Zoom out incrementally

Creating a Setup

Go to the desired manager (Pocket Manager for this example)

Confirm correct machine selection in the lower left corner

Click Setup > Create Setup

Select the Table Face of the model that sits on the machine table

Select Origin Point (X0, Y0, Z0) using your mouse and confirm

Begin making pockets using Editor

Select wireframe on model to create the shape of pocket , make sure the lines connect to close the pocket

When done, click OK

Enter top and bottom values of pocket for depth.

Begin making programs using Add, Mill Parameter Manual

Add operations to macro

Use Mill pocket to generate program

Rename the pocket or click OK to continue, the program will be made and you can now post

Posting a File

Highlight the completed file

Right-click > Post

If using an ATC, the ATC Manager screen will appear

Confirm tool locations

Click OK

Choose your save location when prompted

Your new posted file will be saved to the selected folder
